Hi my best friends. Just another week in my life in Japan. Get ready for a lot of food, nature, and art porn this post haha.
The week started off with some great food therapy. Tuesday night Danny (go gauchos) and I went to this Yakitori Izakaya near Shibuya that I had randomly passed by a couple nights earlier. And it was amazing. I love meat I'm sorry animals of the world I need to eat you. My favorite was the chicken meatballs with the raw egg yolk SO GREAT OMY. This is basically food porn at this point.
On Wednesday a group of friends and I went to the Koreatown right above Shinjuku. Where are you BTS and Blackpink stans? Jk I literally only know that 1 song by BTS with Halsey. Anyways we basically just ate a bunch of food there. We had Korean fried chicken and this like cheese fondue thing with spicy/sweet chicken and vegetables you swirl it in. YUM.
Friday night Danny and I tried Gyukatsu Motomura. They serve like raw steak that is breaded around it. I am really glad the worker asked if we knew how to eat it because I literally thought you just eat it raw. BUT it turns out you cook it on this hot plate first. That could have went bad lol. It was really good! I recommend!! Why don't they have this in the US!!!
Then the weekend was packed with fun! I went on a trip to Nikko with my professor, another professor from Tokyo Tech, and a visiting professor from Germany. It was so nice there- really great nature and a beautiful shrine.
After Nikko I went with some friends to Odaiba to Teamlab Borderless. It's basically a digital art museum. Everyone should go to this 1000%. I think this was the happiest I've ever been in my life. It was so much fun. There's insane visuals all around and you get to find hidden rooms in the museum. So much interactive exhibits too. There was this forest of poles with rock climbing handles that we were all racing to get to the end first. Anyways I highly highly highly recommend going to this place. It is well worth the money.
Ok Well that wraps up that week. DON'T FORGET TO SMASH THAT LIKE.
